Good News Tuesday

It's always nice to have good news to share and I have a few good things to share with you.

I have been chosen to design for a new digi shop and challenge blog, SKdigis.  Sonia is back to creating and blogging and has opened her own digital stamp store.  There are some adorable images available now.  You can visit her store HERE.  Her blog is up and running now and the challenges will begin on Monday, Sept. 3.  I hope you'll visit Sonia and give her some bloggie love and support.

Freebies - Freebies - Freebies
In case you didn't read to the end of my last post (I know, you were dazzled by the zombie, right?), I wanted to remind you that the entire set of Zombie stamps can be copied for FREE through Saturday. After that, they will be available at Copic Marker Scrapbooking.
To pick up your set, head over to Marking Our Mark by clicking HERE.  The design team members have created some fantastic cards using the images.  If you do design a project using one of the images, we'd love to have you share it on our Copic Marker Scrapbooking Facebook page.

Well, that's my news for today.  Tomorrow is design team day for Cooking with Cricut so I hope you'll come back to see my challenge post.

Sun-sational

This is the second card I designed for my Copic Class gals.  I used another adorable image from Paper Crafting World.  I couldn't pass up this amazing patterned paper - it goes so well with the theme don't you think?  The mat and sun are Spellbinders cuts and the sentiment is from
K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer.  I can always find the perfect sentiment in my K Andrew Designs sets.

REMINDER:
Copic Marker Scrapbooking will be showcasing the entire Zombie release on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST.  You won't want to miss our special surprise so be sure to visit HERE on Sunday.

Time to watch the Opening Ceremonies' Parade of Athletes!
Hugs and Happy Crafting,

Sweet!

Here's another project I created for my Copic class gals.  They were thinking summer projects for class so I used one of Melin's adorable digital images - bear with watermelon.  You can find this image at Paper Crafting World.com.  After I finished coloring the image and assembling the card I knew that a sentiment from K Andrew Designs would be perfect.  I cut a little banner and added the word "sweet" from Kristal's Sweet July set.
The patterned paper is "Backyard Chomp" by American Crafts.  The circles are Nestabilities and then I added twine.  I think it finishes the card but keeps the casual look and feel.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dog Days of Summer

It's time to think about the "dog days of summer" at Delightful Challenges.
I'm using one of Wendy's pre-colored Apple Tree Background images (there are 4 color choices in the set) with Happy Dance Nesbitt frolicking through the summer day.  Both images can be found at Digital Delights by Louby Loo

As always, you're invited to participate in this week's challenge.  You do not have to use one of Wendy's images, but if you do, you may enter twice.

CWC's Christmas in July

It's Christmas in July at Cooking with Cricut.  Melin and different design team members are presenting projects every day this week to help spark your Christmas creativity so be sure to visit the CWC blog.

Today is the Cricut challenge - use a piece of scrap paper - for Christmas in July week.  I used the Scandinavian Christmas cartridge for this card.

The patterned papers are from a stack by GCD designs called Scandia Jul.  I picked it up when I was in Texas last Christmas.  I also used scraps of Bo Bunny double dot (my absolutely favorite paper!!) and white cardstock (always have plenty of that on hand).  I cut the layers according to the cartridge then added a shadow by enlarging the base cut by 1/4th inch and using the hide contour on my Gypsy.  I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder and added some faux stitching - that's it!
Oh, the bow is my take on the "fork" bow.  It works really well for ribbon that is printed on one side.  I use a hair lifter instead of a fork so my bows can be different sizes.
You can find a tutorial that I did for FCCB by clicking on my Quick Tips tab.

I hope you'll join in our Wednesday Cricut challenge.  Just link up at CWC for your chance to become a "Top Chef."  Remember to use a Cricut cut and a piece of scrap paper somewhere on your project.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

Crops of Luv Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Cooking with Cricut's monthly blog hop.

This month the designers have chosen to create layouts for the Crops of Luv Organization.
If you've arrived from Jamie's blog, Scrappin 2 Baby Girls, then you're in the right spot. If you were just visiting my blog and would like to start at the beginning, you'll want to click HERE to go to Cooking with Cricut.
Crops of Luv works hand-in-hand with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and creates scrapbooks for families who have children facing life-threatening illnesses. Our blog hop features 12 x 12 double page layouts using these themes requested by Crops of Luv: Princesses, Pirates, Animal Kingdom, Summer Fun, Christmas (yes, they celebrate Christmas every Thursday at "Give Kids the World"), or general Disney themes.
We were given specific guidelines for the layouts. They requested a journaling tag or block for each layout and mats to hold three 4x6 photos per page. We were also asked NOT to permamently adhere the photo mats in case they needed to be moved or flipped. I used double-sided repositionable tape to adhere my mat
.
Here is my layout for Day 2:

I purchased the die cuts a long time ago during the Northern California Scrapbook Shop Hop. The Mickey in the corner is from the Mickey Font Cartridge.  The journaling tag is the ticket.  The ticket cover is attached with a brad.

I hope you're enjoying all the Design Team's creations. We invite you to participate. You can make a two-page layout following the guidelines above and mail it directly to Crops of Luv c/o Roberta Baker, 11424 S. Pawnee Circle, Phoenix, AZ 85044. This blog hop is also a CWC challenge to be sure to link up your project HERE. And while you're at CWC, leave a comment for a chance to win some great blog candy.

Christmas in July

Well, this guarantees I'll have at least one Christmas card finished!
Delightful Challenges' designers are sharing their Christmas in July designs.
I've used Candy Cane Jingles on my card.  This adorable image can be found at

I used Spellbinders for the mats and snowflakes and Copics to color Jingles.
I hope you'll link up to our challenge HERE.

Buttons and Brads

That's the theme for this week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  The design team members are including buttons and/or brads on their creations.

I made a birthday card for my brother-in-law who is turning 65.  I selected this car from Nate's ABCs.  The sentiment is from the MS All Occasion Cake cartridge. The inside sentiments were computer generated.  I think buttons and brads are great embellishments to use on masculine cards.

Please join in our challenge by visiting Cooking with Cricut and linking your button and brad creation.  Don't forget to include a Cricut cut on your design as well.

Spellbinders Shape Card

I've told you before how much I admire Lisa's (A Mermaid's Crafts) designs.  She does the most amazing things with Spellbinders dies.  I've been adding to my collection and finally decided to try a shape card using Labels 17.  This is a card I will be sending out for a Card Fairy mission.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.  Lisa, thank you for sharing your amazing talent and always being such a creative inspiration.

To create the shape card, I folded the cardstock to create a 4.25x5.5 card base.  Then, I lined up the Labels 17 die so that the folded edge would not be cut when I ran it through the Cuttlebug.  I cut the full Labels 17 shape (one size smaller) out of the floral paper - K&Co - then used dies from Blossom Tags and Accents and Fleur De Lis rectangles for the remaining shapes.  Each layer is popped up slightly with foam dimensionals and the edges are inked with VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea.  The sentiment is stamped and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the  K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer set.

Don't forget the Copic Marker Scrapbooking Design Team Call.  You have until July 23 to get your applications in.  Just scroll down for all the information you need in order to apply.

Also, Cooking wth Cricut is having a very special Blog Hop next weekend (July 21 and 22) supporting the Crops of Luv organization.  The designers will be sharing double page layouts that will be sent to Crops of Luv to support their efforts in creating scrapbooks for
Make-A-Wish kiddos.  You can join in the fun by sending your own layouts, supplies, or donations to Crops of Luv as well.  We'll provide you with all the information during the blog hop so
SAVE THE DATES!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Two Quick Cards

So glad you stopped by today.
I've been trying to sort my scrap paper drawers and realized that I have almost as many scraps as I have paper stacks.  I decided that I should put those scraps to use along with my growing collection of dimensional stickers.  I get so caught up in my digital images and Cricut cuts that I don't make good use of the treasures I have on hand.  So today I created two cards using scraps and stickers and things I have on hand.  The sentiment stamps on both cards are K Andrew Designs.

These stickers are BasicGrey and the sentiment is a combination of phrases from the Owly Hoo set.

And these stickers are a K & Co set.  The sentiment is from Fashionable Friends. I even found this little frame that I had embossed, spritzed, and inked - who knew?

I think both of these cards will be great to send for Card Fairy Missions.

Maybe this will be your week to dig through your stash and create something with what you have onhand.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

Primary Colors Challenge

It's time for a new digital release at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  To celebrate the new release, the Delightful Challenges design team is having a primary colors challenge.  We are introducing Wendy's newest "School" characters and sentiments.  I know, your summer break has barely begun but you know crafters - we're always thinking ahead!!

I decided to make a mini composition book using Party Pencil and one of the School Sentiments.  I used another sentiment for my note holder which is really a 2 inch binder clip. You can see all of the newly released images HERE.

This week's sponsor is our own Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  The winner of the Primary Colors challenge will receive a $10.00 gift voucher for the online store.  Oooooh, your chance to pick out some of Wendy's wonderful images.  Just link your project to the Delightful Challenges blog for your chance to win.
