Digi Desserts Fridaze

  Yay!  It's Friday and time to share another digi stamp created by the talented Melin and available at Paper Crafting World. The Colors of Halloween

  It's time for another Delightful Challenges post.  Our challenge this week is to use the Halloween colors: purple, green, and orange.  Be sure to visit the Delightful Challenges blog so see lots of great projects (not all Halloween either) by our design team members.  

I used this circular image from Digital Delights by Louby Loo's Halloween House set.  All of Wendy's designs can be purchased HERE.  The papers are K&Co and you probably recognize the Martha Stewart drippy goo border punch - boy, I looked everywhere for that punch when it first came out.  The sentiment is a K Andrew Designs set - Fall - O - Ween.  I used Copic Markers, but with very little blending.

Apples and Honey

Today the Cooking with Cricut gals are creating projects that feature Apples  'n Honey in honor of Yom Kippur.  The honey and apples are symbolic of having a sweet and productive near year.  

  My shape card was designed using the Doodlecharms cartridge and my Gypsy.  I used the shadow image of the basket welding two together to create the card base and cutting a third to maintain the shape for the front.  I also welded a circle to the inside piece to create a base for the apples (made it so much easier to assemble.  All of the papers are from my scrap stash.   I hope you'll visit Cooking with Cricut to see more projects and to link up your own Apples 'n Honey project.  The challenge is to include apples and/or honey or honey bees, and remember that you must include a Cricut cut.   I'm entering this project in the Cut it Up challenge.

I'm Excited!

  Woohoo!  I was just informed that I've been invited back to the Getting Cricky Design Team!!!   With all of my Cricut creations and my digi stamp creations, I'm always on the lookout for the perfect sentiments.  Kristal's stamps have come to my rescue time and time again.  I am thrilled to be reunited with K Andrew Designs and the great gals at Getting Cricky.  

 

 

My Favorite Things Blog Hop

  Hey Everyone!   I'm so excited to be joining the Getting Cricky gals for this month's 3rd Friday Blog Hop celebrating OUR FAVORITE THINGS about Kristal's stamps.

I really believe that Kristal's stamps are "must-haves" for every card maker. I know that when I need to create a card for whatever occasion, I'll have the perfect sentiment.  Today I'm sharing a card that I didn't have much time to design - yet, with my Spellbinders Card Creator die, some scrap paper,  embellishments from my stash, AND Kristal's Positive Thoughts stamp set, I was able to put together something that I think will be appreciated by the recipient.

Digi Dessert Fridaze

  It's time to share another project that I created for CWC/PCW Digi Dessert Fridaze feature.   Each week, the designers are creating projects using Melin's digital stamps.  Her stamps are both pre-colored and black and white line art.  I love the line art because I am so addicted to my Copic Markers, but, I must say, sometimes the pre-colored images come in handy.   Here's my card using Boy Bear with Shortcake.  

Don't you love this Jillibean Soup patterned paper?  It's so perfect for this image.

I used the line art version so I could color the bear with Copic Markers.

Well, I certainly hope not!   But how about your projects?  This week we're looking for projects featuring a distressed look, so join us at Delightful Challenges and show off your ideas.   I used two images from Digital Delights by Louby Loo's "Ahoy Matey Accessory Set,"and lots of tearing, inking, and sanding to get a distressed effect.  

 

The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs' Pirates Tales and Fish Scales set.  I hand cut and banner.  I also used Copic markers and Distressed Ink.

Let's See Some Texture

It's Cricut Wednesday at Cooking with Cricut.  For this challenge we'd like to see some texture on your project.   I designed this card using my Gypsy and the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I selected a feature cut, used hide contour to remove the inner square, copied the remaining scalloped square and welded the two to create the base card.  For the outside, I used the scalloped window as it appears and popped it up on the base.  I added an embossed mat to highlight the layered and embossed butterfly and here it is:

Black and White + 1

  Happy Monday!  I hope you had a delightful weekend.  Wow, with football season in full swing, the weekend seems to fly by.   Today is our second challenge at SKdigis.  Sonia has decided that we will have a challenge EVERY WEEK rather than every other week so it will be easier for you to remember when we're sharing our challenges - woohoo!   For Challenge #2 we are asking you to create something that is black and white + one other color.  Be sure to stop by the challenge blog for lots of design team inspiration.   

I used the Zoo-Zebra image and one of my favorite color combinations.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot Tiny Tags set.

Digi Desserts Fridaze

  Digi Desserts Fridaze is a new feature every Friday at Paper Crafting World/Cooking with Cricut.   The participants will be sharing projects using digital stamps and word art from Melin's digi collection at Paper Crafting World.  You know how much I love digital images and Copics!!!   I have two projects to share.  The first is a card using the Bear in Pumpkin Patch digi. How about popping over to PCW and giving digital stamps a try.  They are so easy to download, size, and print on your computer or your cut and print machines (Cameo, Eclips, etc.).  If you're not excited about coloring, the images also come pre-colored along with the black and white line art.

 

 

Anything But a Card

You'll see all sorts of adorable crafting ideas when you visit Delightful Challenges.  The designers, using images from Digital Delights by Louby Loo, have come up with some super-creative ideas that you won't want to miss.  To see all of the DT projects, click HERE.   My project is an altered composition book which I turned into a reading log using Wendy's cute little character, Bookyworm.  Bookyworm and all of Wendy's images can be purchased HERE.  

  The wonderful thing about using digital stamps is that you control the sizing of the image so you can adapt it to any of your projects.  I colored Bookyworm with Copics.  The patterned papers were adhered to the comp book using Modge Podge.  The title was cut using Cricut American Alphabet - a cartridge built in the E2.   You can join in this challenge by linking your "anything but a card" project HERE. I Feel the Love Project

    Good Morning!  It's Wednesday which means it's my design team day at Cooking with Cricut.   This week we are creating cards for Madison's I Feel the Love project.   September's project supports the children at Casa Pacifica.  The goal is at least 70 cards to send for their Halloween Party.  If you'd like to participate you can read more about IFTL HERE.  We'd love to have you link your card to our CWC Cricut Challenge and then mail your card  by September 30 to: Madison Womack (IFTL) Funky Cards P.O. Color Challenge at CWC

For the SKdigis Inauguration Blog Hop click HERE.     This week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut is a color challenge. The design team is using the colors RED, GREEN, CREAM, BROWN, and KRAFT.  

 

I just purchased the Autumn Celebrations and Simply Charmed cartridges so I used them both for my card.  I also used the Argyle and Numbers Cuttlebug Embossing folders. I embellished with Washi tape, Baker's Twine, buttons, and some doodling.
